REARTLITY: THE REALITY OF OUR LAND, TOLD BY ARTISTS ON A VIRTUAL MAP
REARTLITY, an international open call to build an interactive cartographic exhibition focused on the relationship between human beings, the land, and the ecosystems we inhabit.
MANGO Residencia para Artistas is an independent platform dedicated to developing artistic, environmental, and conservation programs that connect contemporary creation with science, territory memory, and ancestral knowledge, within the framework of its initiatives with global art, science, and conservation alliances.
About the Virtual Exhibition
This showcase is designed to integrate seamlessly into artists' ongoing practices: it enriches their trajectory and maintains continuous exhibition of their work without the logistical barriers of physical shipping or customs procedures. As a globally accessible space, it allows audiences anywhere in the world to experience each artist's proposal while they continue their production and practice within their own local territories.
Why an Interactive Cartographic Format?
Presenting artists through a map format serves a clear conceptual purpose: to highlight planetary interconnectedness and emphasize the urgency of conserving our land and shared resources.
-
Global Territorial Connection: By geolocalizing each proposal, the exhibition demonstrates how creators from diverse latitudes respond to and raise awareness about local and global environmental challenges.
-
Borderless Visibility: The cartography weaves individual works into a living archive that transcends geographical divides.
-
Network and Community: Joining MANGO means becoming part of an ecosystem focused on fostering transdisciplinary dialogue among art, environment, science, ancestral knowledge, and community.
Thematic Focus: Our Land (works addressing the relationship with land, territory, memory, or conservation through technical, conceptual, reflective, or experiential approaches).
Disciplines: Open to visual works (JPG/PNG), sound, and audiovisual pieces (YouTube links).
Exhibition Duration: Active for 5 months (from November 17, 2026, to April 17, 2027), featuring a live online opening event via Google Meet.
We invite artists and collectives worldwide to contribute the voice and memory of their territories to this global network.
